Sunita Kejriwal is an IRS (Indian Revenue Service) officer and wife of the chief minister of Delhi MrArvind Kejriwal.
Sunita joined the Indian Revenue Service in 1995 after qualifying through the Civil Services Examination in 1994. Arvind and Sunita qualified for the prestigious Indian Revenue Service (IRS) same year. After qualifying for IRS, both Arvind and Sunita met at National Academy of Administration in Nagpur, the institute where IRS officers are trained. Since his childhood, Arvind was straightforward and believed in plain speak and it impressed Sunita who admired Arvind’s courage and bold attitude.
Sunita’s family was settled in Delhi and Arvind hailed from Hisar, a small district in Haryana. Since the two belonged to the same caste and were undergoing training for the same service, there was no opposition to this relationship and the two families gave their consent immediately. The couple finally got engaged in August 1994 and after that two months of intense courtship began. In November 1994, the couple finally tied the knot. At the time of their marriage, they were still undergoing training for IRS. After finishing their course in 1995, the couple moved to Delhi.
The couple blessed with a girl Harshita in 1996 and boy Pulkit in 2001.
