He was Chief Minister from December 2013 to February 2014 before also but stepped down after a period of 49 days. He is the national representative of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP). His political party has won the 2015 Delhi Assembly elections comprising a majority, obtaining 67 out of 70 assembly seats.

Arvind Kejriwal’s JOURNEY TO POLITICAL WORLD

Kejriwal is actually a mechanical engineering graduate from the Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur and has  worked for the Indian Revenue Service (IRS) as a joint commissioner in the Income Tax Department (ITD).
In 2006, he had owned the Ramon Magsaysay Award for Ethnically magnificent Leadership as per his involvement in the grassroots movement Parivartan(change) with the use of Right-to-Information legislation in a campaign against corruption. The very same year, after quitting from the IRS post, he donated his Magsaysay award money as a corpus fund to found the Public Cause Research Foundation, which is a non-governmental organization (NGO).
Not only this, In 2012, he started Aam Aadmi Party, and that party won in the 2013 Delhi Legislative Assembly election. After the election, he took over the office as the Chief Minister of Delhi on dated 28 December 2013. He then stepped down 49 days later, on 14 February 2014, reason proposing about their  minority government’s inability to pass his proposed anti-corruption legislation  because of  lack of support from other political parties.
On 14 February 2015, he was entitled as Chief Minister for a second term after his party’s winning in the Assembly election.

HISTORY of Arvind Kejriwal

Arvind Kejriwal was actually born in a middle-class family in the place you have rarely heard i.e. Siwani, in Bhiwani district, Haryana on 16 August 1968, he was the first out of the three children of Gobind Ram Kejriwal and Gita Devi. His father was an electrical engineer who has graduated from the Birla Institute of Technology, Mesra, and thus, his work led to many changes in their family’s residence. Kejriwal has spent most of his childhood time in north-Indian towns such as Sonipat, Ghaziabad, and Hissar. He completed his school education from Campus School in Hissar and at a Christian missionary school in Sonipat.
Arvind Kejriwal’s grandfather was very happy when he took the medical career for training but Kejriwal then chose to study engineering as there were far more student seats available. He got his graduation from the Indian Institute of Technology in Kharagpur, specifying in mechanical engineering. He then joined Tata Steel company in 1989 and was posted in Jamshedpur. Kejriwal gave  his first resign in 1992,  for taking leave of absence to prepare for the Civil Services Examination. He used to stay some time in Kolkata, where he come to met Mother Teresa, and represented with The Missionaries of Charity and at the Ramakrishna Mission in North-East India and at Nehru Yuva Kendra.
In 1995, Arvind Kejriwal was married to Sunita, his batchmate wink emoticon from National Academy of Administration in Mussoorie and the National Academy of Direct Taxes in Nagpur. This couple has two pretty children. Kejriwal is a vegetarian though and has been practicing the Vipassana meditation technique from many years. He is also a diabetes patient.

REASON BEHIND ENTERING POLITICS – CRITICISM

One of the major criticisms thrown at the Jan Lokpal activists was that they had no right to state terms to the elected representatives. Consequently, Arvind Kejriwal and other activists decided to enter politics and take part in elections.
In November 2012, they were officially launched as the Aam Aadmi Party. Arvind Kejriwal was elected as the party’s National Convener. The name of the starting the term Aam Aadmi, or “common man”, whose interests Kejriwal said to represent. The establishment of AAP then created a rift between Kejriwal and Hazare. But AAP decided to contest the Delhi Legislative Assembly election, 2013, with Kejriwal contesting against Sheila Dikshit. Arvind Kejriwal succeed and became the fifth most mentioned Indian politician on social media channels during elections.
Arvind Kejriwal has led AAP party to successfully win 67 of the 70 constituencies in the 2015 Delhi Assembly elections, wonderfully leaving the BJP with three seats and the INC with none. In those elections although, he was again elected from the New Delhi constituency, this time by defeating Nupur Sharma through 31,583 votes. He took official oath on (Valentine’s Day) 14 February 2015 as Delhi’s chief minister for the second time in the famous Ramlila Maidan.
